Objective

The primary objective of the Delhi Police Welfare Society is to provide insurance cover and savings benefits to its members, ensuring financial security at the time of retirement or cessation of service.

Administration

The Society is managed by a Managing Committee, which includes senior officers from the Delhi Police. The committee meets at least twice a year to manage the Society’s affairs and decide on applications for benefits.

Membership and Contributions

  • Eligibility: All Gazetted Officers, enrolled Delhi Police personnel, and MTS can become members.
  • Contribution:
    • Gazetted Officers: Rs. 300 per month (Rs. 100 refundable).
    • Non-Gazetted Officers: Rs. 250 per month (Rs. 100 refundable).

Benefits

1. Insurance Cover

  • Death Benefit: Rs. 7,00,000 to the nominee in the event of the member's death.
  • Cremation Charges: Rs. 20,000 for cremation expenses.

2. Permanent Disablement

  • Compensation: Up to Rs. 2,00,000 for permanent disablement.

3. Refund on Retirement

  • Savings Refund: Refund of contributions made by the member without interest.

4. Marriage Loans

  • Loan Amount:
    • Rs. 1,50,000 for male members or son's marriage.
    • Rs. 3,00,000 for female members or daughter's marriage.
  • Repayment: 31 installments of Rs. 5,000 and a final installment of Rs. 2,500 (for Rs. 1,50,000 loan); 31 installments of Rs. 10,000 and a final installment of Rs. 5,000 (for Rs. 3,00,000 loan).

5. Education Loans

  • Loan Amount: Up to Rs. 5,00,000 for professional courses.
  • Repayment: 53 installments of Rs. 10,000 and a final installment of Rs. 11,667.

6. Medical Loans

  • Loan Amount: Rs. 1,00,000 for treatment of serious illnesses.
  • Repayment: 26 installments of Rs. 4,000 and a final installment of Rs. 2,167.

7. Spectacle and Denture Charges

  • Spectacle Charges: Rs. 2,500 every 10 years.
  • Denture Charges: Rs. 15,000 once in service.

8. Ex Gratia

  • Amount: Rs. 1,00,000 for families of personnel whose compassionate appointment applications are rejected.

Application Process

Membership

  1. Form Submission: Fill and submit the membership form (Annexure A) attested by a Gazetted Officer.
  2. Contribution: Monthly contribution will be deducted from the salary.

Claiming Benefits

  1. Submit Application: Applications for various benefits must be submitted to the concerned District or Unit DCsP.
  2. Documentation: Attach relevant documents such as death certificates, medical reports, or educational certificates.
  3. Verification: The application will be verified by the concerned officers and forwarded to the Police Headquarters for approval.

  • Marriage Loan: Application form (Annexure D), proof of marriage.
  • Education Loan: Application form (Annexure D), bonafide certificate (Annexure E), fee structure.
  • Medical Loan: Application form, medical reports, dependent certificate.
  • Spectacle/Denture Charges: Prescription, bill, verification certificate (Annexure H).
