Stage I: Shortlisting through INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)

INET Examination Details:
- Format: The INET is a computer-based test comprising 100 objective-type questions.
- Sections: The question paper includes four sections - English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
- Standard: The difficulty level of the questions will be equivalent to the 10+2 standard.
- Duration: The exam lasts for one hour.
- Passing Criteria: Candidates must pass each section and achieve an aggregate passing score as determined by the Indian Navy.
- Negative Marking: There is a penalty for wrong answers, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.
Examination Fee:
- An examination fee of Rs. 550/- plus 18% GST is required during the online application process. This fee is non-refundable.
Shortlisting:
- Shortlisting is based on the marks obtained in INET, and it is carried out state-wise due to the state-wise allocation of vacancies.
Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination
Candidates who pass the INET will proceed to Stage II, which includes the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a written examination, and a recruitment medical examination.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) Standards:
- Male Candidates: 1.6 km run in 06 min 30 sec, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak), 15 pushups, and 15 bent knee sit-ups.
- Female Candidates: 1.6 km run in 08 min, 15 squats, 10 pushups, and 10 bent knee sit-ups.
- Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extra-curricular activities is desirable.
Recruitment Medical Examination:
- Conducted for candidates who qualify the PFT.
- Candidates found medically unfit can appeal at a designated military hospital within five days.
- Medical fitness certificates from non-designated hospitals will not be accepted.
Merit List:
- Prepared based on performance in the Stage-II written exam, PFT, and medical examination.
- Results are published on the candidate's dashboard on the official website.
Eligibility Conditions
- Educational Qualifications:
- 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Three years diploma in Engineering or Two years Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics.
- Age: Born between 01 Nov 2003 – 30 Apr 2007.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Agniveers are not permitted to marry during their tenure.
Terms and Conditions
- Duration of Service: Four years under the Navy Act 1957.
- Leave: 30 days per year plus sick leave based on medical advice.
- Pay and Allowances: Starting at ₹30,000 per month with annual increments, plus risk and hardship, dress, and travel allowances.
- Seva Nidhi: A one-time package comprising contributions by both the Agniveer and the Government, totaling ₹5.02 Lakh after four years.
- Life Insurance Cover: Rs. 48 lakh during the engagement period.
- Disability and Death Compensation: Varying amounts based on the percentage of disability or death attributable to service.
Training and Final Medicals
- Training for the course will commence at INS Chilka, Odisha.
- Final recruitment medicals will be conducted at INS Chilka.
