Chitrakoot Police Engage in Women Empowerment and Safety Campaigns

Chitrakoot, 09 August 2024: Under the directives of Superintendent of Police, Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, the Chitrakoot Police launched multiple initiatives on 09 August 2024 aimed at promoting women’s safety, respect, and empowerment as part of the "Mission Shakti Abhiyan-4". The police, led by the Anti-Romeo Squads and "Shakti Didis," actively visited public places and villages to raise awareness among women and girls about safety measures and available services.

Women Safety Awareness Drive

As part of the ongoing "Mission Shakti Abhiyan-4," police teams patrolled various public spaces, markets, and villages, informing women and girls about the importance of safety and how to protect themselves from harassment. They were educated on using services such as UP-112, Women Power Line 1090, and other helplines to ensure their safety. Pamphlets detailing these services were distributed, and the importance of privacy on social media was emphasized. The Anti-Romeo Squads also carried out intensive checks at sensitive locations, ensuring safety and deterring harassment.

Patrols for Maintaining Peace During Shravan

Police teams, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, conducted foot patrols in heavily populated areas during the Shravan month. The patrols aimed to reassure citizens, check liquor shops, and inspect vehicles to maintain peace and order in the district.

Arrest of Wanted Criminals

In a significant development, the Chitrakoot Police successfully arrested two wanted individuals:

Sarusiya Devi, wanted in connection with a case under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 218, and 120B of IPC, was arrested by a team led by Inspector Shyam Pratap Patel.

Kashi Prasad, wanted under sections 147, 353, 504, and 506 of IPC, was arrested by a team led by Senior Sub-Inspector Manish Kumar.

Kargil Victory Day Celebrations

The police, along with the district administration, participated in Kargil Victory Day celebrations at various locations, including LIC Tiraha and town halls, where tributes were paid to the martyrs. The celebrations included the lighting of candles, performances of patriotic songs, and speeches by notable dignitaries. The events aimed to instill a sense of patriotism among the attendees, especially the youth.
