Her father’s name is Surjeet Singh Deswal (an IPS officer and works as the Director-General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police) and her mother’s name is Saroj Deswal (the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Panchkula). Yashaswini is a single child of her parents. Her educational qualification is Economics Honors at DAV College, Chandigarh. Her height is 165cm, 1.65m, 5 feet, and 4 inches and her weight is 57kg, in pounds 125 lbs. Her hair color is black and her eye color is also black. Yashaswini Singh Deswal is one of the youngest pistol shooters. She started finding interest in shooting in 2010 after getting inspired by the Commonwealth games. She started her career in shooting in the year 2012 and won her first gold medal in School Nationals in Pune 2012. Yashaswini made her international debut for India at the 2014 Youth Olympics at Nanjing in China, where she played at the 10-meter air pistol event and finished with sixth in the final. In 2015, she won a Gold medal in Junior Nationals in the 10m air pistol event and broke into the senior team. She excelled well and won medals at the Senior Shooting Nationals. At the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati, she won a Gold medal in a 10m air pistol individual event. In the same year, she won her first international medal by clinching Silver at the Asian Shooting Championships in 10m air pistol women youth.
In 2016, she won her first international gold medal in the 10m air pistol team event at the Asian Airgun Championships. A year later, Yashaswini put up a brilliant show at the 2017 ISSF World Junior Championship and won a Gold medal by scoring a junior world record of 253.9 points. In 2019, she won a Silver medal in a 10m air pistol mixed team event at Asian Shooting Championships. Later that year, she secured her Olympics berth at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics after she won a Gold medal in 10m air pistol women individual at the ISSF World Cup held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also won a Silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team at the same event. Her latest achievement is being her qualification in the Tokyo Summer Olympics that will be held in 2020. She did so by winning a Gold medal at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. She was part of the 2021 ISSF World Cup in Delhi in which she won gold in the women's 10m air pistol event. She has been won 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
