Dear Chairperson and Director General of World health Organization,
My name is Alex Mahoro i am married to Alice Nyirabigeni we live in Rwanda Kigali but our motherland was the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa. The purpose of this email is to request you for an aid.
My mother has been kidnapped in DRC by mai-mai rebels in South Kivu where they call Minembwe since September 2019 until today we don’t know where she may have been buried. I have reported this issue to the UN organisation but they didn’t unfortunately help us. This is their email below
I am very sorry but, unfortunately, according to our colleagues working with the MONUSCO Joint Human Rights Office (JHRO) in the DRC, it seems that your mother may have been killed during an ambush. JHRO staff were informed by a local source that on 12 September 2019, a 60-year-old internally displaced person (IDP) from the Banyamulenge community, displaced from the village of Marunde, who was traveling from Mikenge to Minembwe, was killed in Bilalombili (3 km south of Mikenge) by a group of Mai-Mai combatants, according to the source she was traveling on a motorcycle with a driver. The individuals who provided this information did not have the full name of the victim, whom they said was known as “Mama Mezake”.
Should you wish to speak directly with the source who provides this information, our colleague Ms. Gillian Kitley, the Deputy Directory of the MONUSCO Joint Human Rights Office in copy, would be happy to arrange for you to speak.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our more sincere and deepest condolences for your loss.
I would like to add my sincere condolences to those of my colleagues for the loss of your mother.
The individual who informed my colleagues about the incident that led to the death of the woman that we believe was most likely your mother told us yesterday that he does not, unfortunately, know where she was buried. He is a notable from the Banyamulenge community and I would suggest that you speak to him directly, as he may have other information that would help you. Please let me know if you would like me to send you his phone number.
With best wishes
Gillian Kitley, Deputy Director
United Nations Joint Human Rights Office
United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the DR Congo (MONUSCO)| Goma.
