Elangovan is a famous Indian politician of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Tamil Nadu. He was born on 30 August 1954 (age 67 years according to 2021) in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), India. His father’s name is Late Shri T.K. Srinivasan (Ex Rajya Sabha MP) and mother’s name is Shrimati T.K.S. Saraswathi. His educational qualification is an M.A. from the University of Madras, Chennai. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati M.G. Nalini on 23 January 1984 and has two daughters.
T. K. S. Elangovan started political his career as a candidate of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He was elected to the Fifteenth Lok Sabha from Chennai North constituency. He has been served as a member of the Committee on Estimates, a member of the Committee on External Affairs, a member of the Committee on Empowerment of Women, a member of the Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers, member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Railways. After that, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Tamil Nadu in 2016. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Energy since 2016, a member of the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Education since 2019. He is also the Organisation Secretary and Spokesperson of DMK.
