Surender Kumar is an Indian field hockey player. He was born on November 23, 1993, in Karnal district in Haryana, India. His height is 5 feet and 10 inches. His father Malkhan Singh was a farmer and his mother is Nilam Devi he was a housewife. He first started playing during his school days at Royal Aryan Public School in Kurukshetra. First coached by Sardar Gurvinder Singh, Surender started to spend more time on the Hockey field than in classes. He first played for India in 2012, with the junior team. He also played many junior levels such as Asia Cup, Sultan Johar cup, and World cup. In 2015, play in the Hockey India League for Delhi Waveriders. He first played with the senior team in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2016 and was also part of the national team that participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Surender is one of those rare players who has never changed their playing positions. He has spent his complete life playing as a Full-Back. He is a team player and can adapt to a team strategy to perfection. He is gonna be one of the stars in the upcoming FIH Hockey World Cup in 2018.
