He was born on 17 November 1975 (age 46 years according to 2021) in Bhawanipatna, Distt. Kalahandi (Odisha), India. His father’s name is Shri Satya Narayan Seth and his mother’s name is Shrimati Kusum Devi. His educational qualification is B.E., LL.B., M.B.A., Master in Public Administration (MPA) from Sambalpur University, Burla, Odisha, Oxford University, U.K., and Harvard University, U.S.A. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Swati Kumar on 8 June 2006 and has one son.
Sujeet Kumar started his career as a software engineer with Infosys Technologies Ltd. after that he shifted to the development sector and worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In 2016, he was appointed as a Special Secretary of Odisha State Planning Board and Advisor of Special Development Council (SDC), Government of Odisha in 2019. In 2020, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Odisha with which he is serving as a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of External Affairs, member of Committee on Information and Communication Technology Management in Rajya Sabha, member of Committee of Privileges, member of Committee on Home Affairs.
