Subhas Sarkar is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Medical Practitioner, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Bankura (West Bengal) Constituency. He was born on 25 November 1953 (age 68 years according to 2021) in Bankura, West Bengal, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Nanda Gopal Sarkar and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Mayarani Sarkar. His educational qualification is B.Sc. (Hons), M.B.B.S., Certificate Course i) Ultrasonography, ii) Infertility and iii) Laparoscopy from Bankura Christian College, University of Burdwan and B.S. Medical College, Calcutta University. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Chandana Sarkar on 30 Jan 1986 and has one son. He loves listening to legendary persons` speeches and recitations, listening to Rabindra Sangeet and patriotic songs, watching movies teaching, social services, yoga, different cultural and social programs.
Dr. Subhas Sarkar started his career as a Medical Practitioner as he did many courses in that stream. During the course of 28 years of gynecological practice, he had successfully completed about 33,000 babies overseen in the delivery. After that, he took his feet into the political world as he was first appointed to the Vice President of BJP, West Bengal for 2013-15, General Secretary of BJP, West Bengal for 2015-17. In May 2019, he was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from Bankura (West Bengal) Constituency with which he was made a member of Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare, member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, member of Indian Nursing Council and member of All India Medical Sciences, Kalyani. Currently, he is appointed the Vice President of BJP, West Bengal since 2017 and Union Minister of State for Ministry of Education since 2021.
