Sophie Choudry is an Indian Singer and Indian actress, born on 8 February 1982. She born in Manchester, England, United Kingdom. She has an elder brother. Her birth name is Sophia but she changed it to Sophie. She did her schooling from London School of Economics and completed her graduation from European Politics. She is a fluent speaker of English, Hindi, Urdu, French and Italian. She is a decent singer in Spanish and Punjabi also. She is a good dancer also and won several scholarships in her school for her dance performances also. In London, she learnt Kathak. When she came to India, she learnt Bharatnatyam also. Sophie is well trained in Western classical music also.
After completing her studies, she decided to follow her dream and she began her singing career at the age of 12. Her first music directed by Biddu who launched Sophie’s career. She first lent her voice as a backup singer to Shweta Shetty and Alisha Chinai.
In the year 2000, Sophie made her girl band named ‘Sansara’. And started her career as a pop singer which was written by herself (Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai). After that, her band were separated and Sophie started her singing career separately. In 2001, she was donning the videos “Habibi” and “Le Le Mera Dil”.
Sophie moved to Mumbai in 2002. She hosts the popular show MTV Loveline. She gave her first remix album Sophie & Dr. Love in November 2003. The album was going superhit for 6 months in India and break the records of other albums. Then she appeared in the video directed by Rao and Sapru of Kaanta Laga fame. After sometime she launched her new album ‘Baby Love’. Sophie Said that “she listened to 400 songs to make her perfect 12 include songs Dil Ke Armaan, Jadugar Saiyaan, Ek Pardesi Mera Dil Le Gaya, Zuby Zuby and Bachke Rehna Re Baba”.
In December 2009, she launched her remix album with original numbers. The album was associated with the brand name Madame and they hired her as their brand ambassador. Then she worked with several singers like Rishi Rich, Bappi Lahiri, Biddu and Gaurav Das Gupta.
Sophie becomes a popular singer and performer on the live shows. She also performed for brands like Audi, Hero group, Icici bank, Qualcomm, HSBC, Blackberry, Microsoft and many more brands. She also participated in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 7.
