Shwait Malik is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, a Business, Social Worker, and a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Punjab. He was born on 29 April 1963 (age 58 years according to 2021) in Amritsar, Punjab, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Rajinder Lal Malik and his mother’s name is Shrimati Urmil Malik. His educational qualification is B.E. (Electronics and Electrical Communications) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University, Patiala (Punjab). His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Reema Malik on 11 October 1986 and has two children one son and one daughter.
Shwait Malik was first appointed to the Councillor of Municipal Corporation, Amritsar for 1997-2002 and 2002-2007 and Mayor of Amritsar Municipal Corporation for 2007-2012. He started his political career as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2016, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Punjab, and in 2018 he was appointed as Punjab BJP Chief. Currently, he is a member of Rajya sabha and serving as a member of Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, member of Committee on Industry since 2016, and member of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda since 2020.
