Shilpa Rao, born on 11 April 1984. Her birth name is Apeksha Rao, belongs to Jamshedpur of Jharkhand state. Mr. S.V. Rao is her father’s name. She completed her schooling from Little Flower School, Jamshedpur.

Shilpa Rao starter her singing career with Jingles for advertisements. She sung first song Tosey Naina Lagey for the movie Anwar and got Saiyaan Re for the film Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love. Both the songs were chart busters. Later on she sung so many songs for so many hindi movies.

Shilpa Rao has won Best Singer award at Indian Television Academy Awards for Navya..Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal. Along with this she was also the winner of Best Female Playback Singer competition at Star Screen Awards in year 2008. She achieved this award for the song Khuda Jaane of Movie Bachna Ae Haseeno.
