Shekhar Kapur is an Indian actor, director, and producer who is famous for his remarkable works in Indian cinema as well as international cinema. He was on 6th December 1945 in Lahore, Punjab, British India. His parents were- father Kulbushan Kapur who was a doctor and mother Sheel Kanta Kapur. Shekhar did his schooling from Modern School, New Delhi and for completing his graduation in economics he got enrolled in St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Delhi.
Shekhar had 2 wives- he first got married to Medha Gujral but the couple parted their ways in 1994 after some years Kapur fell in love again with Suchitra Krishnamoorthi in 1997 and were blessed with a girl named Kaveri Kapur but unfortunately they also got divorced in 2007.
In his initial stage of career he worked with a multinational oil company and later in 1970, he went to the United Kingdom and for several years he worked as an accountant and management consultant. But these things didn’t give him happiness as he wanted to work in the Film Industry.
Shekhar came into the film industry to work as an actor and acted in movies like Jaan Hazir Hai, Toote Khilone but audiences didn’t accept him. Later he made his debut as a Director with family drama Masoom in 1983, and the movie proved to be a super hit. Now he knew that he can be a good director and continue directing several blockbuster movies such as- Mr. India, Bandit Queen, Joshilaay, and much more. Last he was seen as RAW Agent Colonel Jagannath in the movie Vishwaroopam II in 2018. Currently, he is working on some scripts.
