Shamsher Singh Dullo is a famous Indian politician of the Indian National Congress, Advocate, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Punjab. He was born on 6 December 1947 (age 74 years according to 2021) in Khanna, Distt. Ludhiana (Punjab), India. His father’s name is Late Shri Inder Singh Dullo and his mother’s name is Shrimati Harnam Kaur. His educational qualification is Bachelor of Arts, LL.B. from A.S. College, Khanna and Law College, Punjab University, Chandigarh (Punjab). His religion belongs to Sikhism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Harbans Kaur on 14 October 1979 and has four children two sons and two daughters.
Shamsher Singh Dullo started his political career as a candidate for the Indian National Congress. He was first elected to the Member of Punjab Legislative Assembly for two terms (1980 - 85 and 1992-97). In between, he was appointed to the Minister of Excise and Taxation, Government of Punjab for 1992-96. In 1999, he was elected to the Thirteenth Lok Sabha and in 2016, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha. He is serving as a member of the Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Railways, member of the Committee on Papers Laid on the Table. He is also part of social and cultural activities as he is worked for the Upliftment of the poor and downtrodden people, women and child welfare, helping the orphans, widows, and old aged people, to infuse the spirit of nationalism in the younger generation and mobilizing people against terrorism.
