Shailesh Lodha born on 15^th July 1969 to Shyam Singh Lodha and Shobha Lodha in Sirohi, Rajasthan is popularly known for his character of Tarak Mehta in Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah. Shailesh’s father was a government employee due to which the family kept shifting to different cities. His childhood was spent in cities like Balotra, Nimbahera, Raipur and Sirohi etc. Since the young age of 5, he started writing poetries. He made his television debut in the year 2007 with Comedy Circus in which he was a contestant. Since July 2008, he has been playing the character of Tarak Mehta (a Gujarati columnist). In 2012 along with Neha Mehta he hosted a popular show aired on Sab TV named Wah! Wah! Kya Baat Hai! In 2014 he grabbed the Zee Gold Award for Best Anchor. Till now Shailesh has written 4 books. His books are mainly based on satirical humour. Shailesh is the highest paid poet of the country. He has also visited various countries where he has recited his poems.

He got married to Dr. Swati Lodha who is equally talented just like Shailesh. She is a management author, academician, and motivational speaker. She is also the Director of Aditya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai. She recently started a new concept Moon Parenting which is related to unique and interesting concepts of parenting. The couple has a daughter named Swaraa Lodha who is studying in Oberoi International School. Swaraa has special interests in music and designing.
