Saurabh Chaudhary is one of the youngest athletes of India. He started shooting around three years back and in a very short time, he has become an Indian shooting star. He started training at Amit Sheoran’s Academy at Benoli in 2015. He made his first international debut at the Asian Championship in Tehran in 2016. In 2017, Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal at the Asian Airgun Championships in the youth category. The very same year, he came into the spotlight after defeating Jitu Rai in the finals of the KSS Shooting Championship. After that, he continued his spirit in shooting in 2018 as he was part of the Youth Olympic Games which was held in Buenos Aires, and won gold. In the same year he represented India in ISSF Junior World Cup at Mixed team 10m air pistol, 10m air pistol team junior where he won 3 gold medals. Also, he was part of the Asian Games 2018 Palembang and won gold. At the ISSF Junior World Cup, Saurabh made a world record in the 10m air pistol junior category by scoring 243.7. The earlier record of 242.5 points was held by Wang Zhao from China. He enjoyed a phenomenal run in the year 2019. The Indian shooter won two Gold medals at the 2019 ISSF World Shooting Championships.
In May 2019, he bagged gold at the 2019 ISSF World Cup, followed by another Gold in 10 m air pistol event at the 2019 ISSF World Cup, held in Munich. Saurabh settled for a bronze medal, at the ongoing 2019 ISSF World Cup, held in Rio de Janeiro. His performance helped him bag his sixth medal in the year 2019. In January 2020, he won 63rd gold at the 63rd National Shooting Championship. in men's 10-meter air pistol. He followed his charm in the following years as he won 5 medals in ISSF World Cup in 2021 at 10m air pistol men. He is known for his world records, Best Junior score: 243.7(ISSF Junior World Cup, Germany), and Best Asian Games score: 240.7. He has been also honored with many awards these are the Emerging sportsman of the year male award at the Indian Sports Honors in 2019, the Laxman award on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh diwas in 2020, and the Arjuna award in 2021. He has won a total of 14 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals.
