Saswata Chatterjee is also known as Apu was born on 19 December 1970 into a Hindu family in Kolkata, India. By profession, he is an actor. His father Subhendu Chatterjee was an actor and his mother Anjali Chatterjee was a teacher. He started his career with a Hindi serial Kaalpurush, which was directed by Saibal Mitra.
Later, he was seen in another T.V. series Feluda, the sleuth. From which he received many good reviews from the audience for his acting and also, he gained popularity. He makes his debut in a Bengali cinema from a Bengali film Baksho Rahashya (1996), which was directed by Sandip Ray. He acted in many Bengali films like Tiyasha, C/O Sir, Proloy, Jekhane Bhuter Bhoy, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Bhooter Bhabishyat, Abar Bomkesh, Byomkesh Bakshi, The Bong Connection, and Abar Aranye.
He made his debut in Bollywood with a Bollywood film Kahaani (2012), which was directed by Sujoy Ghosh and Co-starring with Vidya Balan. The film was super-hit at the box office. Then in 2013, he was seen in a Bengali film Meghe Dhaka Tara, which was directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee. The film was based on the life works of Bengali film director Ritwik Ghatak. He married Mohua Chatterjee is a teacher and the couple has a daughter name, Hiya Chatterjee. We hope to see him on the big screen as soon as possible.
