Sarmistha Sethi is a famous Indian politician of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Civil Servant (Retd.), Social Worker and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jajpur (Odisha) constituency. She was born on 04 Feb 1974 (age 47 years according to 2021) in Ranihat, Cuttack, Odisha, India. Her father’s name is Late Shri Madan Mohan Sethi and her mother’s name is Smt. Urmila Sethi. Her educational qualification is M.A., M.Phil (Political Science) from Utkal University, Odisha. Her religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, India. She married Shri Rabindra Kumar Sethy on 25 Feb 2001 and has one son. She loves reading books, writing, and cooking.
Sarmistha Sethi cleared the Civil Services Examination and was appointed to the Assistant Consolidation Officer for 2000-04. After that, he was appointed to the Deputy Collector for 2004 – 2008, Under Secretary for 2008 – 2014, Deputy Secretary 2014-19. She is one of those candidates who are elected first time in parliament as she was elected to 17th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Jajpur (Odisha) constituency with which she was made Standing Committee on Home Affairs, member of Committee on Empowerment of Women and member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Civil Aviation. He is also part of social and cultural activities as he is an Odisha Administrative Officer of organized and attended different social activities for women, youth and especially for children and also visited different villages and enlightened the people regarding different welfare policies/programs of Government. Currently, she is serving as a National Spokesperson, Biju Janata Dal.
