Santunu Sen is a famous Indian politician of the All India Trinamool Congress, Medical Practitioner, Consultant Radiologist, Honorary Professor, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of West Bengal. He was born on 26 December 1972 (age 49 years according to 2021) in Kolkata (West Bengal), India. His father’s name is Shri Aloke Sen and his mother’s name is Shrimati Panna Sen. His educational qualification is M.B.B.S., D.M.R.D., F.I.A.M.S., F.R.C.P. (Glassgow) educated at R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Dr. Kakali Sen on 22 January 1999 and has one daughter.
Santunu Sen started his career as a Medical Practitioner as he has been National President of the Indian Medical Association. After that, he joined politics as a candidate for the All India Trinamool Congress and was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2018 from the state of West Bengal. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) since 2018, a member of the Committee on Health and Family Welfare since 2018, member of the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Kalyani, and a member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas since 2019. He is also Honorary Secretary of IMA, West Bengal since 2011, and the West Bengal Medical Council since 2012. He has published Articles in the Journal of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and in ‘Your Health’, a publication of the IMA. He was the President of the Indian Medical Association.
