Sameer Oraon is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Agriculturist/Farmer, Social Worker and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Jharkhand. He was born on 4 February 1970 (age 51 years according to 2021) in Bishunpur, Distt. Gumla (Jharkhand), India. His father’s name is Shri Jokhana Oraon and his mother’s name is Shrimati Bipto Oraon. His educational qualification is Intermediate (Arts) from Bihar Intermediate Education Council, Ranchi, Jharkhand. His Nationality belongs to Indian. He is married to Shrimati Sushila Oraon on 9 May 2000.
Shri Sameer Oraon started his political career when he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. He was first elected to the Member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly for 2005-09. In 2018, he was elected to Rajya Sabha and served as a member of the Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel, a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and a member of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Deogarh. He has been Worked with Vikas Bharti (NGO), Bishunpur in the field of social and cultural activities, worked with Vanavasi Kalyan Kendra, Jharkhand in cultural and educational fields, Tritiya Varsh Prashikshit in Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, and participated actively in its social and cultural endeavors, worked with Kendriya Sarna Samiti, Jharkhand and Sangathan Mantri, Murma Parha Jatra Samiti. Currently, he is a BJP Leader and BJP Vice President (Jharkhand Unit).
