Sajid Ali Khan aka Saif Ali Khan son of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and former cricketer late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was born on 16th August 1970 in New Delhi, India age 47 years old. Currently, he is living in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. By profession, he is an Actor and Producer. Saif is the tenth Nawab of Pataudi. Highlighting in his childhood, he was an impulsive and spontaneous child. He did his schooling at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh and later was shifted to Lockers Park School, Hertfordshire, and did his graduation from Winchester College.
After Khan’s graduation he came to India, and worked for an advertising firm in Delhi for 2 months, he was also featured in a commercial for Gwalior Suiting and after this, he was cast by Anand Mahindroo for a film but project got shelved, but he moved to Mumbai to make his career in movies. Saif was first married to Amrita Singh but due to some differences, they got divorced in 2004, after this in 2012 he married Kareena Kapoor Khan. Saif with his first marriage has 2 children, 1 daughter Sara Ali Khan and 1 son Ibrahim Ali Khan, and from the second wife he has a son named Taimur Ali Khan.
Saif made his Bollywood debut with movie Parampara in 1993, movie was a flop, he had hoped with his next two movies released in same year which were Aashiq Awara and Pehchaan, but his both the movies were gain a flop, but for his movie Aashiq Awara, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, in 1994 he was cast in movie Imtihaan which was a moderately successful movie, he got the real stardom with his next two movies Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi opposite Akshay Kumar.
He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Main Khiladi Tu Anari, his next two releases Yaar Gaddar and Aao Pyaar Karen were a big flop. After this, his career declined, his next 9 movies- Surakshaa, Ek Tha Raja, Bambai Ka Babu, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, Dil Tera Diwana, Hamesha, Udaan, Keemat: They Are Back and Humse Badhkar Kaun, was a big flop and failed to impress audiences as well as critics. In 1999 Saif’s two movies Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan and Aarzoo were a hit at box office, after this his next movie Kachche Dhaage was a major hit after Main Khiladi Tu Anari, after this his biggest hit of the year Hum Saath Saath Hain came and became the highest grossing movie of that year.
In 2000, he was starred opposite Preity Zinta in movie Kya Kehna, which did a good earning at the box office. In 2001 Khan came up with 3 movies Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Dil Chahta Hai and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, out of which Dil Chahta Hai was a major hit and loved audiences heart. He starred in only one movie in 2002 which was Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, which was a flop. His movie Kal Ho Naa Ho was again the biggest hit of 2003 opposite Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan. He won many accolades for the film. In 2004, he was starred opposite Rani Mukherjee in Hum Tum, for which he won National Award for Best Actor.
In the year 2004, he came up with a different genre movie Ek Hasina Thi opposite Urmila Matondkar, and people loved his performance in the movie. In 2005, Said became an Established Actor and gained a great fan following, he has starred in two movies Parineeta, which underperformed at the box office, but his second movie Salaam Namaste became the highest grossing movie of the year. The major turning point in his life was movie Omkara, through his performance in the movie he came out as a mature actor and won hearts and impressed critics as well.
His movie like Eklavya: The Royal Guard, which didn’t impress audiences at the box office was officially selected for Oscars. Movies like Nehlle Pe Dehlla and Ta Ra Rum Pum did well at box office. In 2008, he was starred in a multistarrer movie Race and his movie became the biggest box office hits. His next movie Tashan, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Roadside Romeo, Love Aaj Kal, Kurbaan, Aarakshan, Cocktail did well at the box office. In 2013 he was again approached for Race franchise Race 2 and became a commercial hit.
His movies like Go Goa Gone, Bullett Raja, Humshakals, Happy Ending, Dolly Ki Doli, Phantom, Rangoon and chef were able to do business at the box office but were not able to gain wide audiences. His upcoming movie Kaalakaandi, Baazaar and Sacred Games and Soorma, and are in hope to entertain audiences with his performances. Saif has won 6 Filmfare Awards, and a National Award for Best Actor till date.
