Sachin Bansal was born on 5th August 1981 age 36 years, in Chandigarh, India. He scored 49th All India Rank in IIT JEE. He is a co-founder of India’s biggest e-commerce site named Flipkart, Sachin does his business in partnership with Binny Bansal. Sachin and Binny did their degree in Computer Science Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Bansal always wanted to be a professional gamer but became a successful entrepreneur.
Sachin Bansal is married to Priya, who is a dentist, and the couple has a four-year-old child. Sachin also invests in early-stage Indian start-ups to encourage new ideas for the betterment of people. After Sachin did his graduation, in his starting of career, he joined Techspan Company, where he worked for few months. Bansal then joined Amazon.com India as Senior Software Engineer, where he met Binny Bansal, and they both shared an idea to do a partnership and decided to quit their job in Amazon. First, they had an idea to start a comparison search engine, but later realized that it’s a very small market, then after some time, they founded Flipkart as an E-commerce company. Sachin and Binny Bansal launched Flipkart with an initial investment of Rs. 4 lakhs from an apartment in Bangalore.
In their earlier days, they used to deliver books across Bengaluru on their scooters in 2007. In October 2015, they came to some customers doorsteps, to deliver the product personally to them and also to gain the feedbacks from the online buyers. In August 2016, he was removed as the CEO of Flipkart based on performance ground. He has been honoured with many accolades such as the 86th richest person in India by FORBES, from ET Awards he was awarded as Entrepreneur of the year, also with Binny Bansal he was ranked as 26th in India’s 50 Most Powerful People of 2017 list and along with Binny Bansal he was awarded the prestigious “2016 Asian Of The Year”.
