Ravi Shankar Raju Bhupatiraju popularly known as Ravi Teja was born on 26 January 1967 age 50 years in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh, India. His parents are Raj Gopal Raju and Rajya Lakshmi Bhupatiraju. His father was a Pharmacist and his mother was a Homemaker. By profession, Ravi is an Actor. His fans also call him Mass Maharaja, Mass Raja, Crazy Star.
He is one of the highest paid actor and a superstar in Telugu Cinema. In 1999, he has been honoured with Nandi Special Jury Award, and in 2002 for his tremendous performance for films Nee Kosam in 1999 and Khadgam in 2002, also in 2008 won the state Nandi Award for Best Actor for film Neninthe. Currently, he resides in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He has two more brothers, one named Bharath who unfortunately died in a car accident on 24 June 2017 and his second brother named Raghu is also an Actor. Due to his father’s work, he has lived in many Northern India.
Did his schooling in Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and Jaipur, completed his schooling from N. S. M. Public School, Vijayawada. Did his graduation from Siddhartha Degree College, Vijayawada in Bachelors in Arts. He is a married to Kalyani and the couple has 2 Children. Made his debut in Telugu Cinema as a Supporting Actor in movie Karthavyam in 1990, also did many more supporting roles in movies in 1991 with Chaitanya, in 1992 with Aaj Ka Goonda Raj, in 1993 with Allari Priyudu, in 1996 with movie Ninne Pelladata, and also in 1997 with movie Sindhooram.
For many Telugu movies, he also worked as an Assistant Director. Did his first lead role movie in 1999 named Nee Kosam and received the Nandi Award for his performance. After this he kept on doing lead role movies such as in 2001 in Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Chiranjeevulu in 2001, Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru in 2002, Idiot in 2002, Khadgam in 2002, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, Venky in 2004, Naa Autograph in 2004, Bhadra in 2005, Vikramarkudu in 2006, Dubai Seenu in 2007, Krishna in 2008, Kick in 2009, Don Seenu in 2010, Mirapakay in 2011, Daruvu in 2012, Balupu in 2013, Power in 2014, Bengal Tiger in 2015, Raja The Great in 2017.
In Forbes India List of Top 100 Celebrities, he was at 50th position with Annual Income of Rupees 15.5 Crore in 2012. In 2013, he slipped to the position 68th in the list with earning of Rupees 13 Crore, and in 2015 he slipped to the position of 74th in the list with Annual Income of Rupees 12.5 crore.
