Ravi Shankar is an Indian spiritual leader. He is usually named as Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Guruji, Gurudev by his followers all around the world. He was born on the 13th of May 1956 in Papanasam, Madras State, Tamil Nadu (now), India. His parent’s name is still not known in the media. He has a sister sibling Bhanumati Narasimhan. Bhanumati is the Director of Women Empowerment and Child Care Programs for the Art of Living foundation. Ravi Shankar earned his Bachelor’s degree in Science from St. Joseph College of Bangalore University.
After completing his studies he used to travel with his mentor Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, with whom he arranged conferences and talks on Vedic Science in Transcendental Meditation and Ayurveda centers. Later he became engaged with this work.
In 1981 he founded Art of Living Foundation which is a volunteer-based, humanitarian, and educational non-governmental organization. It has numerous centers all around the world in more than 156 Countries. For his fabulous works, in January 2016 he was honored by Padma Vibhushan for India's, Second Highest Civilian Award.
