Rattan Lal Kataria is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Advocate, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Ambala (Haryana) Constituency. He was born on 19 December 1951 (age 70 years according to 2021) in Vill. Sandhali, Distt. Yamunanagar, Haryana, India. His father’s name is Shri Jyoti Ram and his mother’s name is Smt. Perwari Devi. His educational qualification is B.A. (Hons.), M.A. (Political Science), LL.B. from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, and S.D. College, Ambala Cantt. (Haryana). His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Banto Kataria on 04 May 1984 and has three children one son and two daughters. He has been visited Australia, Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region of the People`s Republic of China), Japan, Singapore, Thailand, U.A.E., U.K., U.S.A., and Vietnam.
Rattan Lal Kataria was first appointed as a State Vice-President of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha in 1980. In the same year, he was made a permanent member of the BJP National Council. He has been worked at the position of Spokesperson of BJP, Haryana for 1981 – 1982, State President Anusoochit Morcha of (BJP), Haryana in 1982, All India General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (B.J.P.) Scheduled Castes Morcha for 1987-91, Parliamentary Secretary, (Revenue), Haryana in 1988, Akhil Bhartiya Mantri Anusoochit Morcha for 1990 -1991, Akhil Bhartiya Mahamantri, Anusoochit Morcha for 1997 – 1998, and Akhil Bhartiya Mantri, BJP for 1998 – 1999. He was appointed as a Member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1987. In 1999, he was elected to 13th Lok Sabha from Ambala (Haryana) Constituency, re-elected to 16th Lok Sabha (2nd term) and 17th Lok Sabha (3rd term) from the same Constituency. In 17th Lok Sabha, he was made a member of the Standing Committee on Defense and Minister of State of Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. He is All India Secretary of B.J.P since 2000.
