His educational qualification is M.A. (Sanskrit), B.Ed. from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Ratanben Rathod on 17 May 1978 and has one son. He loves to do Charity work to facilitate depressed sections of society.
Ratansinh Magansinh Rathod, better known as Ratan Singh, started his political career as a Sarpanch for ten years (1990-2000) and was then appointed to the Member of District Panchayat for 2000 – 2019. He has been Chairman of the District Education Committee for 2015 – 2018. In 2017, he was first elected to the Member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly and elected to 17th Lok Sabha representing Panchmahal Lok Sabha constituency, Gujarat in 2019 with which he was made a member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and member of Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sport.
