He married Nirmalatai Danve on 17 May 1977 and has one son and three daughters. He is also good at Kabaddi and other sports.
A politician of three decades' experience, Raosaheb Dadarao Danve started his political career as a Sabhapati of Panchayat Samiti, Bhokardan in 1980. In the period of 1980-90, he was appointed to many positions these are President of Bharatiya Janata Party (B.J.P.), Distt. Jalna, Maharashtra, Vice-President of B.J.P. Maharashtra, Chairman of Tehsil Monitoring Committee B.J.P., Bhokardan, Maharashtra and Chairman of District Monitoring Committee, B.J.P., Jalna, Maharashtra. In 1990, he was made a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for two terms. He was elected to 13th Lok Sabha from Jalna Constituency for the first time in 1999 and maintained his position in Parliament for the next five terms. He has been Union Minister of State, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution for 2014-15, 2019-21. He has also been President of Maharashtra State of BJP for 2014–2019. In 17th Lok sabha, he became Union Minister of State, Ministry of Railways, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Coal, and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Mines.
