Rani Mukerji is a popular Indian actress, born on 21 March 1978. She has known for her work in Hindi films. She is one of the popular actresses who has received several awards. She won seven Filmfare awards. She had born into the Mukherjee Samarth family. Her several relatives were a member of the Indian film industry. Her father name is Ram Mukherjee. He is a film director and one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios. Her mother name is Krishna Mukherjee. She is a playback singer. She has an elder brother Raja Mukherjee who is a producer and a director.
Rani Mukerji did her schooling from Maneckji Cooper High School in Juhu and completed her graduation in Home Science from SNDT Women’s College. She is a trained Odissi dancer. In 1994, the director Salim Khan requested to Mukerji to play a lead role in his video “Aa Gale Lag Jaa”. But her father did not allow to a full-time career in films at that age. So they rejected his request. In 1996, when she was of eighteen, she played a supporting role in her father’s film “Biyer Phool”. After that, she received an offer from Khan for the Film “Raja Ki Aayegi Barat” she accepted an offer and did it experimental basis. By this act, she won the trophy at the annual Screen Awards ceremony. After that, she decided to full-time career in the film industry.
In 1998, she worked Aamir Khan in the film “Ghulam” directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film was going on commercial success. Then she appeared in the song “Aati Kya Khandala”. Next year, she appeared in the blockbuster film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” alongside Shahrukh Khan and Kajol directed by Karan Johar. She played a role of Tina Malhotra as a college student. The film grossed about 1.03 billion and won eight Filmfare awards. After that, she did a drama film “Mehendi” and a comedy film “Hello Brother”. In the year 2001, she did several films Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai and Nayak: The Real Hero. From the year 2001 to 2014 she gave back to back blockbuster to the Bollywood including Saawariya, Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic, Dil Bole Hadippa, No One Killed Jessica, Aiyaa, Bombay Talkies and Mardani. In the year 2018, she appeared in the comedy-drama film Hichki. The film’s success earned the 750 million.
Rani Mukerji got married to Aditya Chopra on 24 April 2014. She has a little daughter named Adira who born on 9 December 2015.
