Ramvichar Netam is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Chhattisgarh. He was born on 1 March 1961 (age 60 years according to 2021) in Sanawal, Distt. Balrampur (Chhattisgarh), India. His father’s name is Late Shri Ramlochan Netam and his mother’s name is Late Shrimati Jeerhuliya Netam. His educational qualification is S.S.C. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Pushpa Netam on 7 May 1987 and has two daughters.
Shri Ramvichar Netam started his political career when he was made a member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly for 1990-2000 and then Member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly for 2000 – 08 and 2008 - 2013. In between he was appointed to the Minister of Tribal Department, Government of Chhattisgarh for 2004-05, Home Minister of Government of Chhattisgarh for 2005 – 2008, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of Chhattisgarh for 2008-12, Minister of Water Resources Department, Government of Chhattisgarh for 2012-13. In 2016, he was elected to Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh, and currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel, a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Defence, and a member of Committee on Subordinate Legislation.
