She was born on 05 May 1949 (age 52 years according to 2021) in Lalganj, Distt. Vaishali, Bihar, India. Her father’s name is Shri Kailash Prasad Chaudhary and her mother’s name is Smt. Dharbharan Devi. Her educational qualification is Bachelor of Arts Economics (Hons.) from S.K.J.Law College and LL.B. from Jaintpur College, Muzaffarpur, Bihar University, Bihar. Her religion belongs to is Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. She is married to Late Engg. Braj Bihari Prasad on 07 Jul 1965 and has two sons and three daughters. Rama Devi started her career in politics when she joined Bharatiya Janata Party. In 1998, she was first elected to the 12th Lok Sabha from Sheohar (Bihar) constituency. She was made a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for 2000-2005 and became Cabinet Minister of Public Health & Engineering Department, Govt. of Bihar. After that, he was re-elected to 15 Lok Sabha (2nd term) and maintained her position in parliament for 16th Lok Sabha (3rd term) and 17th Lok Sabha (4th term). Currently, he is appointed as a Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, a member of General Purposes Committee, Lok Sabha, member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Executive President of Bihar Vyavasayik Sangharsh Morcha since 2008. She did some Social and Cultural Activities as well as she shared the sorrows of poor people and demanded the red card, ration card, sulabh shauchalaya, and schools for them, raised voice for those who did not get an old-age pension, and encouraged womenfolk for getting sanctioned money for pregnant women from Government of India.
