Ram Shankar Katheria is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Professor, social worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) Constituency. He was born on 21 September 1964 (age 57 years according to 2021) in Nagriya Sarawa village, Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Shri Sone Lal and his mother’s name is Smt. Shanti Devi. His educational qualification is M.A., Ph.D. from Kanpur University, Uttar Pradesh. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Dr. Mridula Katheriya on 17 Feb 2001 and has two sons and one daughter. He loves to do Religious tours and Tourism, Wrote plays, novels, and stories in Hindi, and has a special interest in Social Harmony, Encouraging the youth, Rural Development, Employment, and Innovative research.
Ram Shankar Katheria started his political career at an early age as he worked as a pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for 13 years and worked as a Professor of Hindi at the Agra University. In 2009, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha Agra constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He was re-elected to 16th Lok Sabha (2nd term) in 2014 and 17th Lok Sabha (3rd term) in 2019 from Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) Constituency. He has been Union Minister of State, Ministry of Human Resource Development for 2014-16. In the 17th Lok Sabha, he was made a member of the Standing Committee on Defence and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs. Currently, he is Chairperson of the National Commission of Scheduled Castes since 2017. He has also published books like Etawah Zile Ki Boliyan, Dalit Chetna Ki Avashyakata, Samajik Ekta Ki Avashyakata etc.
