Ram Shakal is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, an Agriculturist, a Social Worker, and a member of the Rajya Sabha (Nominated), the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He was born on 21 March 1963 (age 58 years according to 2021) in Shilpi, Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh), India. His father’s name is Late Shri Raja Ram and his mother’s name is Shrimati Nawabi Devi. His educational qualification is M.A. (Political Science) Educated at Kanhaiyalal Basantlal Post Graduate College, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Shivpati Devi on 12 May 1985 and has three children two sons named Abhay, Umesh, and one daughter named Nidhi.
Ram Shakal started his political career as a Full-time worker of R.S.S. from 1986-96. After that he was made Tehsil Pracharak of R.S.S. for 1986 to 1996. Later he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and was first elected to the Eleventh Lok Sabha from Robertsganj (Uttar Pradesh) constituency in 1996, re-elected to Twelfth Lok Sabha in 1998, and re-elected to Thirteenth Lok Sabha in 1998. In 2018, he was nominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, member of Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Member of Hindi Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Tourism, and member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare since 2019.
