Raghubir Yadav is an Indian stage, film and television actor, set designer and music composer by profession. He is among the finest Bollywood actor who is known for his acting skills. Yadav was born on 25th June 1957 in Jabalpur, India. Raghubir learnt acting from National School of Drama, New Delhi and he is an alumnus of 1977 batch. He made his acting debut with 1985 released Massey Sahib in which he played the lead role. For his performance in Massey Sahib, he won two International Award as Best Actor for Massey Sahib FIPRESCI Critic's Award in Venice Film Festival held at 1986 and Best Actor Silver Peacock IIFI which was held in 1987. He didn't win any national award till now.
Raghubir had performed in more than 70 plays and 2500 shows as an actor and singer. He was associated with Parsi Theatre Company from 1967 to 1973 where he used to travel for shows & events. He had done shoes & events in villages, towns & cities across the country. Raghubir was with Rangoli Puppet Theatre from 1973 to 1974. Yadav not only acted in several shows & events but he also contributed to sets, music, costumes and masks. He is the only actor who received the Silver Peacock Best Actor Award at the International Film Festival of India. Raghubir made his acting debut in the Television industry with Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne (1990) after that he was seen in Mullah Nasruddin and Chaha Chaudhary as the lead roles.
Yadav had also acted in Kannada film Kubi Matthu Iyala (1992) and Bhojpuri Film Bhaiya Anari Bhauji Khilari (2005). His recent movie Newton starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi and Anjali Patil may be his 8th movie to be nominated for the Oscars. But the actor says that awards are not his priority and doing good cinemas has always been his focus.
