He was born on 14 May 1962 (age 59 years according to 2021) in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Shri Venkatasatyasuryanarayana Raju Kanumuru and his mother’s name is Smt. Annapoorna Kanumuru. His educational qualification is M. Pharma from Andhra University, Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Rama Devi Kanumuru on 28 Apr 1980 and has two children one son and one daughter.
Raghu Rama Krishna Raju Kanumuru started his political career as a candidate of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Later he joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014. He served as a BJP member for four as in 2018 he quit BJP and joined Telugu Desam Party. Subsequently, in 2019, he joined back YSRCP. He was first contested and won the 17th Lok Sabha elections from Narasapuram constituency in 2019 with which he was made a member of the Standing Committee on Coal and Steel, member of Rules Committee, and Chairperson of Committee on Subordinate Legislation. Currently, he is serving as a member of Committee on Public Undertakings, member of General Purposes Committee, Lok Sabha, member of Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law & Justice, and member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
