He married Deepali Singh on 18 Feb 1999 and has two sons. He has been widely traveled to Nepal, South Africa, and Vietnam. Kunwar Pushpendra Singh Chandel started his political career in 2014 when he joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh. In 16th Lok sabha, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Railways, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Agriculture, Joint Committee on Offices of Profit, and Standing Committee on Finance. He was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term) in 2019 and became a member of the Standing Committee on External Affairs, Rules Committee, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Defense, and Standing Committee on Labor. He was also part of some Social and Cultural Activities as he associated inter alia with a renowned trust working towards the self-empowerment, betterment of people and families suffering from leprosy, and organized working for orphaned children and for the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage and folk arts of the Bundelkhand region. He is also associated with the RSS as the Bal Swayam Sevak and since then taking an active part in the Sangh activities as a devout Sevak.
