The Prime Minister of India is the authority that leads the working and the functioning of the Union government of India. Till now fourteen Prime Ministers has been elected and appointed in India. The first prime minister of the independentIndia was late Shri. Jawaharlal Nehru. Shri Narender Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of India. He was appointed as the Prime Minister of India on 26the may of the year 2014.
Shri. Narender Modi headed the elections of 2014 on the behalf of Bhartiya Janta Party. He natively belongs to the soils of the State of Gujarat. For falling under the eligibility criteria of election as Prime Minster of India, the person must be a citizen of India.
Not only this, he/she should be a member of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha and should be above 25 years of age to be a part of Lok Sabha or above 30 years of age to be a part of Rajya Sabha. The eligible candidate must not be a part of any office of profit under the government of India or under any state governments as well.
The Prime minister is required to take the oath in the presence of the honourable President of India. The two main oath taken by the Prime Minister according to the laws of the constitution of India are; oath of office and oath of secrecy.
