Prem Chand Gupta is a famous Indian politician of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from the state of Bihar. He was born on 3 February 1950 (age 71 years according to 2021) in Bhiwani (Haryana), India. His father’s name is Late Shri N.R. Gupta and his mother’s name is Late Shrimati Shanti Devi. His educational qualification is Graduate (Economics) from Vaish College, Bhiwani and D.N.College, Hissar. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality-Indian. He married Shrimati Sarla Gupta on 2 December 1972 and has three children two sons and one daughter.
Dr. Prem Chand Gupta started his political career as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal. He was first elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament from Jharkhand in 1996, re-elected to Rajya Sabha (second term in 2002 and third term in 2008, fourth term in 2014). He is appointed the Leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal Parliamentary Party in Rajya Sabha since 2012. He has also been appointed to the cabinet minister in the Ministry of Company Affairs of India. In 2020, he was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Bihar and currently serving as a member of the General Purposes Committee, member of the House Committee. He is also President of Rashtriya Vaish Parishad.
