Pratima Bhoumik, also known as “Didi”, is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Agriculturist, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament from Tripura West. She was born on 28 May 1969 (age 52 years according to 2021) in Barnarayan, Sepahijala, Tripura, India. Her father’s name is Shri Debendra Kumar Bhoumik and her mother’s name is Smt. Kanan Bhoumik. Her educational qualification is Graduate (Bio-Science) from Women's College, Agartala, University of Tripura, Tripura. Her religion belongs to is Hindusim and nationality, Indian. She loves to do Reading and Travel in her free time.
Pratima Bhoumik started her career in politics when she joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 1991. In 2016, she was appointed as a State General Secretary of BJP. She was first elected to the 17th Lok Sabha and became a member of the Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs, and Public Distribution, Committee on Absence of Members from the Sittings of the House, and member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Railways. She was also included in the Hindi Salahkar Samiti, Ministry of DoNER as its member. Currently, she is appointed as a Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the Second Modi ministry as she became the first Central Minister from Tripura and second from North East.
