She married Late Shri Virbhadra Singh (who had been a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh) on 28 Nov 1985 and has two children one son and one daughter. Pratibha Singh started her political career as a candidate for the Indian National Congress in 2004. She was first elected to the 14th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh with which she became a member of the Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, Consultative Committee for Ministry of Tourism, and Committee on Public Undertakings. After that, she was re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in a by-election (2nd term) in 2013 and to 17th Lok Sabha in a by-election (3rd term) in 2021. She is part of social and cultural activities as she is President of Association for Social Health in India, Red Cross Hospital Section, Himachal Pradesh, Vice Chairperson of Red Cross Society, Himachal Pradesh for 1985 - 1990, 1994 - 1998, and 2003 onwards and runs home for destitute women and orphan children and also runs creches.
