Prakash Nanjappa is an Indian professional and experienced shooter who competes in the 10m air pistol and 50m pistol events. He is also the member of Indian shooting squad in 2016 Rio Olympics and finished the event at 25th in the qualification round. Prakash was the only Indian to win the medal in the 2013 ISSF World Cup, he won a bronze medal in 10m air pistol event in Changwon, South Korea. He was born on 29 February 1976 in Bangalore, India. His father name is P.N Papanna and he is a national level shooter. He started his career in shooting in 1999 but he has no enough interest in shooting so that why he moved to Canada and worked as a Software Engineer till 2009. His father forced him to come back and play for India, then he quit the job and moved to India and took up the sport again. He won some medal for India like the bronze medal in 2013 ISSF World Cup in Changwon, South Korea. But due to paralyses attack the right side of his face he suffered a lot and do so hard work to recovered from it. In 2013 after his recovery he won a silver medal in the 50m pistol event in the Asian Air Gun Championship held in Tehran. He also won a silver medal in 10m air pistol event in 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. He has a good fan following in India as well as in abroad also.
