Pasunuri Dayakar started his political career when he joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). He was first elected to 16th Lok Sabha in a bye Election from Warangal (SC) (Telangana) Constituency with which he became a member of the Standing Committee on Labour. After that, he was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term) from the same constituency and made a member of the Standing Committee on Labour, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
