He also worked as a chemistry lecturer in a famous college of Anantpur. He is married to Uma who is a Correspondent by profession at Sri Balaji Educational Society in Anantapur. The couple is parenting a son and a daughter. He is currently a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Andhra Pradesh representing the constituency of Puttaparthi for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) which was founded by famous South Indian film star N. T. Rama Rao on March 29, 1982.He holds the portfolios of Information & Public Relations, Information Technology & Communications, Non-Resident Indian empowerment & Relations, Telugu Language & Culture and Minority Welfare & Empowerment. Sri. Palle Raghunatha Reddy was first elected to the assembly general elections from the constituency Nallamada in Anantapur District in 1999. He also served as Chief Government Whip but had to face serious backlash and opposition from the members of the Telugu Desam Party. He was elected as a Member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 2007. He is currently serving his term of 2014- 2019 as a minister for Information & Public Relations, Information Technology & Communications, Non-Resident Indian empowerment & Relations, Telugu Language & Culture and Minority Welfare & Empowerment. He is also the Chairman of the P.V.K.K. Institute of Technology and is the President of Sri Balaji Educational Society, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Raghunatha Reddy is very dedicated towards the development and progress of Andhra Pradesh. He visited the United States of America from July 1, 2016, to July 8, 2016, to get the assurance from 15 companies for about Rs 5,000 Crores of investments to create an employment for more than 10,000 people in Navya Andhra Pradesh. It is said that he is a kind of politician who is having a moral spirit to serve the society and he is also the recipient of 9 national awards.
