His educational qualification is Bachelor of Commerce from Guwahati Commerce College, Guwahati University, Assam. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Ditimoni Khandait on 18 Sep 2012 and has one daughter. He has been widely traveled to Bhutan, Nepal, Switzerland, and Thailand. Pallab Lochan Das was first selected as a member of Assam Legislative Assembly for consecutive two terms (from Behali Vidhan Sabha constituency in 2011 and from Rangapara constituency in 2016). In 2016, he was appointed as Minister of State (Independent Charge), Government of Assam for three years. After that, he was elected to 17th Lok Sabha from Tezpur constituency and became a member of the Standing Committee on Labour, Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, and Consultative Committee, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He did some Social and Cultural Activities as well as he becomes part of events like Blood donation, Plantation of trees, Wildlife conservation, Jhumar dance, Bihu dance, Kasa Sona festival was organized with an aim to preserve and promote the heritage and culture of Tea Tribe Community. He took the initiative to organize the Green Book Fair, The first-ever book fair for the people of tea gardens in Assam to bring the literature to the new generation of the community, etc. He has a special interest to work for the welfare of the workers belonging to the unorganized sector and for their empowerment.
