Narayan Rane is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Agriculturalist, Businessman, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Maharashtra. He was born on 10 April 1952 (age 69 years according to 2021) in Konkan, Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), India. His father’s name is Shri Tatu Sitaram Rane and his mother’s name is Shrimati Laxmibai Tatu Rane. His educational qualification is 11th Std. (Passed S.S.C.) from Pune Divisional Board. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Neelam and has two sons named Nilesh and Nitesh Rane.
Narayan Tatya Rane started his political career at an early age as he first joined Shiv Sena in 1968 and was appointed to the local Shakha Pramukh at Chembur, Mumbai. After that he was appointed to the Municipal Councillor of Chembur, Mumbai, Municipal Corporation for 1985-91, elected to the Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for 1990-2014, Cabinet Minister of Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Government of Maharashtra for 1995-96 and was made Minister of Revenue and Rehabilitation and Khar Lands and Ports, Government of Maharashtra for 1996-99. In 1999, he was elected to the 13th Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
In 2005, he joined the Indian National Congress and was made Minister of Revenue, Maharashtra for 2005-08 and 2009-10. He has also been Minister for Industry, Maharashtra in 2009 and Minister of Industry, Port & Employment, Maharashtra for 2010-14. In 2017, he joined Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha and later joined Bharatiya Janata Party 2017. In 2018, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Maharashtra. Currently, he is serving as a Minister of Micro of Small and Medium Enterprises.
