Nabam Rebia is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from the state of Arunachal Pradesh. He was born on 10 August 1962 (age 59 years according to 2021) in Ompuli, P.O. Doimukh, Papum Pare, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Nabam Epo and his mother’s name is Shrimati Nabam Yanyang. He did his schooling at H.S. School, Doimukh and his educational qualification are B.A. (Hons.), LL.B. from J.N. College, Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh), Panjab University, and Delhi University. His Nationality belongs to Indian. He married Shrimati Nabam Dumsap and has four children two sons and two daughters.
Nabam Rebia started his political career as a Political and Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and first became the candidate for the Indian National Congress and later joined Bharatiya Janata Party. He was first elected to the Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh for 1996-2008. After that, he was elected to the member of Legislative Assembly Arunachal Pradesh represented Doimukh constituency for consecutive two terms (2009-19). In between, he has been appointed to the Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly for 2014 – 2016. He has also been worked at the position of the minister of Urban Development, Town Planning, Housing, Urban Local Bodies, and Law and Justice in the BJP-led Pema Khandu government in Arunachal Pradesh. Currently, he is serving as a Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha (third term) since 2020.
