Murali Kartik is a former Indian cricketer who occasionally played in the Indian cricket team from 2000 - 2007. He was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler who took birth on 11th September 1976 in Madras, Tamil Nadu. Due to the presence of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh he didn't get much chance to play in International cricket. He is known for his loopy trajectory and spin & bounce. He sometimes bats as a left-handed batsman. Kartik completed his graduation from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
He started his career as a medium pacer and later turned to left-arm finger spinner. He grew up by watching spinners Maninder Singh, Bishan Singh Bedi and Venkatapathy Raju. Murali Kartik made his Test debut on 24th February 2000 against South Africa and ODI debut on 16th March 2002 against Zimbabwe.
Kartik played for Railways from 1996 to 2014, Lancashire Country Cricket Club for 2005 to 2006, Middlesex Country Cricket Club for 2007 to 2009, Kolkata Knight Riders for 2008 to 2010, Somerset for 2010 to 2011, Pune Warriors India for 2011 to 2012, Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 and Kings XI Punjab in 2014.
