He married Shrimati Namrata Jha on 26 February 1996 and has two daughters. His published books are (i) Riots as Rituals, 2010, (ii) In Opposition to Silence, 2009, and (iii) Transit Talks (epistolary form), 2014.
Dr. Manoj Kumar Jha started his career as a lecturer at the Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia from 1994 to 2002. Later he joined the Delhi School of Social Work. After that, he took his feet into the political world as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal. In 2018, he was elected to Rajya Sabha from Bihar also the spokesperson of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
