Mallika Sherawat is an Indian actress who born on 24 October 1976. She was born with the name Reema Lamba in Moth Village. This place belongs to Hisar, Haryana and she was born to a Jat family. Her father name is Mukesh Kumar Lamba. She took birth in a family of Sth Chhaju Ram who was lead partner of Jat philanthropist. She adopted the name “Mallika” for the screen as in Bollywood there are popular actresses with the same name “Reema”. She adopted the surname “Sherawat” from her mother’s maiden. She did her schooling from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and did her graduation in philosophy from Delhi University.
Although her family relations were strained with her when she joins the Bollywood industry, now they accepted her career choice and happy with it. She belongs to a middle-class family that is why she faced so many problems due to her career. But her family supports her and she made it big in Bollywood. Before starting films, she did television commercial of Amitabh Bachchan for BPL and Shahrukh Khan for Santro. She also acted in music videos “Maar Dala” and “Lak Tunoo”. She made her first film with a small role in “Jeena Sirf Mere Liye”. In 2003, she appeared in film “Khwahish” and attracted the box office with her good looks. In 2004, she made “Murder” which was the remake of Hollywood film “Unfaithful”. After that, she nominated for the “Best Actress” at Zee Cine awards for her great performance in Murder. In 2005, she acted in a Chinese film “The Myth” opposite of Jacky Chan. She played the role of an Indian girl who saves Chan from the river. The film “The Myth” was her first international film. Then she appeared with the title ‘the next big thing’ in the “Time Magazine”. In 2006, she appeared in the film “Pyar Ke Side Effects” with Rahul Bose.
