Mahabali Shera started his career as a wrestler in 2011 when he participated in a competition called Ring ka King. It was the Indian project of Nonstop Action Wrestling. He reached the semifinals but was beaten by the well-known wrestler Scott Steiner. On 21 April 2012, he finally became the Ring ka King World Heavyweight Champion by beating Sir Brutus Magnus. Shera was the first Indian wrestler ever to be signed by the TNA. It was on 22 November 2014 that TNA made the official announcement of their signing of Mahabali Shera. He had been part of it for 3 years from 2014 to 2015. On 7 January 2015, his ring name changed to Khoya, officially joining The Revolution. On the 5 August episode of Impact Wrestling, he stood up to Storm hit him with a sit-out spine buster, and officially changing his name to Mahabali Shera. On 14 February 2018, Shera signed a contract with WWE. He made his in-ring debut on NXT at a live event on March 01, 2018, and defeated Dan Matha.
