Shreyams Kumar is a famous Indian politician of the Loktantrik Janata Dal, Agriculturist, Media Owner, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Kerala. He was born on 15 April 1967 (age 54 years according to 2021) in Kalpetta, Kerala, India. His father’s name is Late Shri M.P. Veerendra Kumar (a notable politician from Kerala) and his mother’s name is Shrimati M.V. Usha Veerendra Kumar. His educational qualification is Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Kings Langley College of Management, London. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Kavita Shreyamskumar on 28 May 1993 and has four children one son and three daughters.
M. V. Shreyams Kumar was first joined Janata Dal (Secular) party as a district secretary. After that, he was appointed to the secretary-general of Yuva Janata, the youth wing of Janata Dal. He was first elected to the Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from Kalpetta constituency for two terms (2006–2016). In 2020, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Kerala as a candidate of Loktantrik Janata Dal. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers and member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has been Director of Marketing and Electronic Media of Mathrubhumi newspaper and now serving as a Managing Director of the Mathrubhumi. He has also been awarded Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Film in 2001, Filmfare Award for Best Film – Malayalam in 2002, and many more.
